The statibility period means a length of time for which you have not received a new treatment or diagnosis, the condition has not worsened, or you have not had a change in medication. A change in medication includes any replacement, increase or decrease in the dosage.

Stability periods can vary between 7 days to 365 days and depend on the age of the traveller and the length of the trip. Usually longer trips will require a longer stability periods when travelling.

Medical exams or tests are not required to purchase travel insurance.

However, all insurance companies have a declaration of elegibility which you must fulfill in order for the coverage to be valid. Usually only very serious health conditions are excluded from obtaining coverage.

Furthermore, depending on the age of the traveller, insurance companies require an additonal medical questionnaire to be answered prior to receving a quote. The answers to these medical questionnaires will determine the actual premiums for the coverage.
