We are often asked by our clients: "What should I invest in"?

Unfortunately, there is not a one-size-fits all investment solution. If there was, why would you need an advisor?

What you should consider when investing

There are three major components that should be taken into consideration when looking to invest.

Investments are not set-it-and-forget-it. We ensure that we review your investments with you at least once a year to ensure that it still meets your objectives and risk tolerance.

The three considerations of investing

Time Horizon
When will you be needing this money? In three or 30 years?

Needs change over time, and so do investment strategies. Based on your time horizon, your investment profile will change as you approach the time you'll need the money
Investment Objective
What do you want your money to do? Pay distributions or grow?

Needs change over time, and so do the purpose for investing. Your objectives will change depending on what stage of your life you are in. Young investor might want capital appreciation, while investors approaching retirement might be more interested in preserving their money.
Risk Tolerance
How much fluctuation can you handle?

Markets do go up and down. Risk tolerance is the level of comfort you might have with a changes in the value of your account.
